Aardwolf Slab Lifter Automatic AL50A
Aardwolf offers a new version of its patented Aardwolf Slab Lifters. The new Aardwolf Slab Lifter Automatic AL50A has an integrated auto-lock, unlock mechanism (patent pending), which allows the clamp to automatically grip slabs on pick-up and release the slabs on set down. In many situations this makes moving and handling of slabs safer and more convenient.

Automatic Clamping Mechanism: The AL50A-R features an integrated auto-lock and unlock system that automatically grips slabs upon lifting and releases them upon placement, streamlining operations and enhancing safety
Compact and Versatile Design: Its compact construction allows for easy handling of closely packed slabs, including lower-height slabs positioned alongside taller ones, making it ideal for various construction scenarios.Â
Front Clamping Mechanism: The front-positioned clamping mechanism enables slabs to be placed close against walls, offering flexibility in tight spaces.Â
Force-Multiplying Factor: With a force-multiplying factor of approximately 2.5 to 1, the lifter ensures a secure grip on slabs, providing stability during transport.
Protective Rollers: Equipped with side rollers that protect the top edge of slabs and assist in manual centering, minimizing potential damage during handling.
Durable Construction: Constructed from cast aluminum, the lifter offers strength while maintaining a reduced weight for ease of use.
Q: What is the Aardwolf AL50A-R used for?
A: The AL50A-R is designed for safely lifting and transporting stone slabs such as granite, marble, and quartz in fabrication shops, warehouses, and construction sites.
Q: What makes the AL50A-R different from other slab lifters?
A: It features an integrated auto-lock/unlock mechanism that automatically grips slabs on pick-up and releases them on set-down, enhancing safety and efficiency.Â
Q: What is the grip range and weight capacity?
A: The lifter accommodates slabs from 0.4" to 2" thick and has a working load limit of 2,646 lbs (1,200 kg).Â
Q: How do the rollers enhance its functionality?
A: The side rollers protect the top edge of slabs during lifting and allow for manual centering, reducing the risk of damage.Â
Q: Is it suitable for tight storage spaces?
A: Yes, its compact design allows for lifting slabs from close-packed racks and containers, even when slabs of varying heights are stored together.
Q: What safety features are included?
A: The lifter requires minimal slab movement to engage, keeping the operation below the overbalance angle and minimizing operator risk.
Routine Inspection: Before each use, examine the lifter for signs of wear or damage, particularly on the rubber gripping surfaces and rollers.
Cleanliness: Keep the lifter clean by removing dust and debris from the gripping surfaces and rollers to ensure optimal performance.
Lubrication: Periodically lubricate moving parts, such as the auto-lock mechanism and hinges, with a suitable lubricant to maintain smooth operation.
Storage: Store the lifter in a dry, clean environment to prevent corrosion and damage to components.
Avoid Overloading: Do not exceed the specified working load limit to ensure safety and prolong the lifespan of the lifter.
Training: Ensure that all operators are properly trained in the correct use and maintenance procedures for the lifter.
